Co-Directors Corner
October has been a busy month at WAMM! WAMM has sponsored numerous protests, lobbying, Congressional vigils, educational forums, and other actions to say no to war on Iraq. We were part of a coalition that organized a half-page Pioneer Press ad against the war, signed by over 600 Minnesotans. WAMM was profiled in a Star Tribune article on October 13 and hundreds of households now sport our lawn signs and bumper stickers against the war. Spurred by the growing threat of war and WAMM's higher profile in the media, record numbers of people are calling WAMM to join and get involved. In the last two weeks of October, our membership increased by over 75 people (to approximately 1600), and hundreds more have asked for more information. It is exciting to see our membership grow, especially when there is so much work to be done. Members are the foundation of WAMM's work and WAMMs funding. If you know anyone interested in being a part of WAMM, she/he can become a trial member and receive two free newsletters and information about how to join. Just give us a call at 612-827-5364!
