The greatest cause for alarm on this planet at this time is congressionally sanctioned eco-terrorism. It allows permission for vast tracts of land to be thoroughly poisoned in the name of “justice,” “freedom,” or “democracy” anywhere in the world.
An eco-terrorist colludes with big business to reap as much profit as can possibly be obtained from the earth’s resources and turns around and uses it to destroy the very earth from whence it came. It is called reverse sustainability or double destruction with not even a nanosecond’s worth of sustainability.
A good example of this would be the harvesting of nuclear waste for purposes of war—specifically, the use of so-called “depleted” uranium in missile shells used in wars such as “Operation Iraqi Freedom.” The nuclear waste is obtained for free, then placed in these missiles for its density and ability to cut through metal like no other substance, coupled with the fact that it ignites on impact.
Once the explosion after impact has occurred, radiation is released into the air and this “dust” can be imbibed into the body in many ways. It also lands on crops that will ultimately convey the radioactive poison to a populace beyond the area originally contaminated. The depleted uranium is but one example of the unchecked spreading of poisons worldwide by corporations and the military working in lock step for profit and dominance without conscience.
This type of shortsightedness and greed is the most heinous type of terrorism ever known to humankind. Any existing group of terrorists currently being sought out by this Administration pales in comparison to the future damage that nuclear weaponry brings.
This is our earth; 53 percent of us are women. When will we stand up and fight back? The time to act is now. If this Administration can threaten us with the demise of humanity as we know it, then we as women have an obligation to end the creation of humanity by refusing to reproduce in a world that continues to solve problems through the methods of war. Women need to be seated at the table of global consequence with cultural representation from all nations. Males on the side of peace and sanity need to be backing women.
Nature is about balance; we need balance in world leadership now more than in any time in history. We need all conscious peoples to step forward and begin the process of dismantling the current universal destruction system. As technology moves towards measurements in the billionths of an inch, we see digital eco-terrorism emerging as an almost invisible and invincible enemy. This technology could so easily be utilized for the benefit of this planet, rather than its destruction.
As the gap widens between the elite and the poor, so does the power to change the status quo. Our time is limited; it is up to each one of us to wake up and stop the madness in any way we know possible, for the alternative is to watch our loved ones die horrible deaths around us, brought on by global warming or retaliation for invasions.
