Minnesotans for Fair and Clean Elections (FACE) is a broad based coalition of organizations that are working to replace Minnesota's campaign finance system. Led by the League of Women Voters of Minnesota and Common Cause Minnesota, FACE includes good government groups, religious organizations, environmentalists, people of color, labor unions, organizations that represent low income people, and many more, including WAMM. It currently has 49 members and is adding to its membership frequently. Members of FACE worked countless hours designing a proposal for a campaign finance system based on the Clean Elections systems that have been instituted in Maine and Arizona. Our goal was to create a system that would make people more important than money, would fit with Minnesota's political culture and would be constitutional. The result of our efforts is the Fair and Clean Elections bill, which is authored in the Senate by Senator John Hottinger (DFL-Mankato) and in the House by Representative Mike Osskopp (R-Lake City).
